Our World By: Alexis Scott

Why is it that when we lie, we look to the left?
What's REALLY going to happen after death?

Why is it that when you try not to cry, you get a painful lump in your throat?
Why does the female species find it becoming to gloat?

If hate is such a strong word, why is it such an easy action?
If there's a variety jobs, why do we all want to be the designer of fashion?

If children are a gift from GOD, why are we so very mistreated?
If love is to be cherished, why does it all too often leave our hearts depleted?

See, words of endearment are becoming too dominate when you live in a world where it's impossible to be celibate. We fear Lions and Tigers and Bears, but walk the unsafe streets of cities in which we dwell, without a care. That's where the real problem lies. Lies, told from one person to the next, which usually ends in the words "I regret..". Can you feel me yet? Church was never my priority, cause I get the daily word from Kanye, Common, Wale, and Bob Marley. That's when the judgement comes, and I hate fighting ignorance, but I don't dare to run. Young men with tattoos, pants loose, and guns, we don't know their stories, but we still choose to shun. People always say college is the key to success, parents pound it in our heads, so unheard of dreams are locked away and suppressed. I'm just speaking for those without a voice, the ones who are forced into situations, not given a choice. The majority yells PROP 8, while the minority yells NOH8. Can you relate? I know many of us can. We need freedom for the voiceless, cause I'll be damned. Our generation is repeatedly dogged out, but who can tell me who raised these children that we rant and rave about? We stress that chivalry is dead, but are surrounded by women who only want their men to break bread...Enough said. This is OUR world, let's get it together BEFORE they day we're lying in a hospital bed all covered in RED.

Take a stand for what you believe in.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz & Pete Wentz for NOH8

On November 4, 2008 Proposition 8 passed in California, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.
The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one cheek in protest.

Two years later, Prop 8 has since been overturned, and same-sex couples are now legally able to marry. So special shout out to the makers of the NOH8 campaign for all of their work, and helping to give people the equality and happiness we are ALL entitled to.

The Fantasy

They day I sit on a porch, in front of a beautiful ass house designed by me, in a bathing suit, sipping lemonade, and laughing with my Best Friend and Sister about how my son always writes his "E"s backwards on his homework. Gazing at the sun, remembering when I WISHED for everything I now have. My Husband and daughter will then pull into our driveway, and when he gets out the car, I look at him as if I'd never seen a more beautiful creature. My daughter, missing her front teeth, but all smiles, runs to give me a hug, and immediately rushes to her room to enjoy the new toys her Dad bought her. My husband greets us with a "Hello ladies" and plants a kiss on my lips that sends the butterflies in my stomach fluttering, and tells us the game is on, so he will accompany us a little later. We proceed to the pool, in the backyard. I throw a frizbee for our dog to catch, and swan dive into the pool. I can no longer hear anything but the calm water moving through my hair, and into my ears, and I can't help but think...This is the life I've been waiting for.

Can you see it?

Ambitious Girl

I wish more people wanted this...

Summer, 2010

Good Morning,
Today is August 9, 2010 9:04 am. For me, this means there are only about 14 more days that I will be able to enjoy, without being on any sort of wake-up schedule. That was just a small reminder that school will be starting in exactly 2 weeks :( One thing I can say, is that I've definitely enjoyed my summer. So much has happened this year, that just made me feel that I should enjoy my summer before I go back to school this year. So far this summer, I've gone to my sister's house a few times, Six Flags, Universal City Walk, The L.A Zoo, Hermosa Beach, Docweiler Beach, and some other cool stuff. I've also found a job , finally. In these next two weeks, I hope to return to six flags, go to the Long Beach Aquarium, and take a road trip to San Diego. We'll see how that goes!
